Turn your students into engineers for a day:
In this workshop, they will be invited to consider engineering as a career choice. With a tight budget and raw materials, which team will build the strongest bridge?
The Luxembourg Science Center in Differdange, in partnership with the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to invite you to register your classes for FREE for its brand new workshop, “DiscoverU: a bridge to engineering.”
This hands-on workshop, lasting nearly three hours, places students at the heart of a design challenge. With a limited budget and simple materials (wooden sticks, string, paper), each team must design, build, and test their bridge model. The structures are then evaluated on their performance in terms of weight and construction cost.
Beyond scientific experimentation, this workshop serves as a career guidance tool. By comparing the theoretical design and practical implementation phases, it helps students identify the types of tasks that interest them most: planning and solving abstract problems, or tinkering and practical implementation.
It is an excellent opportunity to discover engineering professions, develop team spirit, and inspire vocations.
