The Luxembourg Science Center has teamed up with the Musée des Déchets (MuD) to present a new temporary exhibition:
A STORY OF TRASH: “Beyond Consumption”
This temporary exhibition offers an interactive and engaging exploration of waste, environmental challenges, and (over)consumption. The importance of both biological and technological cycles will also be highlighted.
- In the biological cycle, organic matter can decompose and be returned to ecosystems.
- In the technological cycle, materials are transformed, reused, or recycled.
Through objects, installations, and educational displays, the exhibition highlights the imbalances that arise when these cycles are disrupted or poorly managed—particularly by consumption patterns that accelerate waste production without providing for its reintegration. The exhibition thus invites visitors to better understand their individual role in these material flows and to consider practices that are more consistent with the functioning of biological and technical systems.

“It’s better to reuse than to consume”: a principle that encourages us to extend the lifespan of objects and to make our consumption habits part of more sustainable cycles.
Whether you’re an expert or simply interested in the environment, waste, recycling, and various solutions, come visit the LSC and its temporary exhibition, open from April 11 to October 31, 2026—open to the general public.
Please note that admission to the temporary exhibition is included in the Luxembourg Science Center entrance ticket, as is access to our large exploration hall (over 100 interactive stations) and science shows (for ages 6 and up).
